Banana from Ivory Coast

My sister brought this almost an inch long banana from Ivory Coast. According to her she's amazed with its size that's why she brought some at home. She even brought three banana seedlings and she wants to plant them on our yard. You cannot eat this raw. You have to cook it either by boiling or frying it. I don't know the reason but that's how you eat it. I don't like the taste but my sister loves it so much. I think I can eat this banana if you would make banana chips out of it.

I've Gained a Lot

Last December, I had to buy a new pair of jeans because my old ones don't fit to me anymore. They are very tight especially on my thigh and waist. Luckily, it was sale at SM Department Store that time. I was able to find a nice jean from Jag and it only costs P600 (around $13). I like the fit so I decided to buy this one. I was a bit disappointed when I found out that my waistline is now 27. Before, it was just 25. I am really gaining more and more weight so I think I really have to work it out. It's what inspires me to attend aerobics almost everyday.

My Own Version of Quesadillas

I was inspired to make my own version of quesadilla because of Zapata's in Clark, Pampanga. They serve authentic Mexican dishes in their restaurant and I really enjoyed their food. If we have a time we always stop by at this restaurant. We don't mind travelling from Manila to Clark just to take a sip to their special margarita. We never forget to ask salsa and jalapeňo on the side. That's how I really their food.

I'm not that really good in making a quesadilla so what I just did is that just I put slices of Swiss sausage and quick melt cheese inside the two sheets of tortilla. I put it in the oven and voila! It's done. The taste wasn't bad so I guess I made it right. LOL
I love spicy foods so I put Tabasco on it. This is great for snacks especially when you're watching movies at home.

Expired Cosmetics

Every start of the year, I always check my make-up kit to see if there would be a cosmetic that needs to be thrown away. Gosh! I didn't notice this eyeshadow that it was staying too long on my kit that it has even grown a mold on it. I'm so thankful that I no longer use this set of eyeshadow.

Even if the cosmetic companies do not put expiration dates on their products, makeup products still expire and it can be harmful to our skin. I know that most of us, women, have lots of expensive makeup collection and it would hurt us to throw them away when it's needed to. But we would spend more than the amount of our makeups when are skin gets affected.

Bacteria can harbor on our eyeshadow and the preservatives on it might not be working well like we first opened it. So you might get a conjunctivitis which is also know as pink-eye. If we use expired makeup, our skin might get irritated and may suffer from peri-oral dermatitis. I have also learned that we should avoid sharing lipsticks or lip glosses because this can be a good transport of bacteria from other people. Our skin might also develop dark spots from using old and expired make-up.

For those makeup lovers, we should always be aware of our cosmetics and always have the time to check if they're needed to be thrown away. We should always check the texture, smell or if it's already old.

First Day of IELTS

Well, nothing much to say about my first day of IELTS review. I can only say one thing, my brain was drained on our Writing Test. I got fed up reading a lot of articles or whatever you call that on our Reading Test and my ears got tired on our Listening Test. But you know what? I still enjoyed doing this things. I guess I really miss going to school. That's why. Please pray for me that I'll be able to get a high score for my IELTS exam.

Feeling Like a Model

Last December, we went to Recto to have my sister photographed for her Post-Graduate picture. She chose this photo studio where I had my graduation picture done. To my surprise, I saw my picture displayed on their door. I was just happy that they chose my picture. I didn't ask them why nor introduced myself that I was the one on that picture. Seeing my picture on that door was enough for me.

I was still slim on that picture and now you can notice the difference that I've gained some weight. I wish I could bring back my old figure. LOL

One Last Sticker Needed

I needed one last sticker for my Starbucks planner. Can't wait to have the planner. I started using a planner since 2007. I always wanted to write down my itineraries to keep myself organized. I'm a forgetful person so I really needed something to write on. This would be my first time to use a Starbucks planner. At first, I didn't want to use it because it's a little bit big and heavy. But I had no choice, my sister and her husband gave me this card with only 5 slots left. But honestly, I got challenged and excited to complete the remaining slots. My sister and her hubby are both addicted to this and it's quite contagious. LOL

Yesterday I went to Starbucks alone to accomplish at least 2 stickers. When I arrived at SM Fairview, I went straight to Starbucks. The line was a little bit slow. While waiting for my turn, the guy next to me saw my card and he told me, "Malapit mo na ma-complete yan ha" I just gave him a smile. I was supposed to get mad at him 'coz he made an order knowing that he's behind me. When he paid his order, he gave me his 2 stickers since he forgot his card. The cashier offered him a new card but the guy still insisted to give it to me. I was very happy that time. I really thanked him a lot.

So it's 5 - 2 - 2 = 1 sticker. It means I can complete it by today and get my Starbucks 2011 Planner.

Day 2 (12/24/2010) of Ilocos Adventure

I woke up at about 7:30 in the morning. I was very excited to go to the beach. But unfortunately, it was raining and the wind was strong. I think there was a high tide but that didn't stop us from going to the beach. We just enjoyed our stay and remaining time at Hannah's Resort.

The view from our room. I just woke up and I immediately went out to see the view. Feels like I'm in a paradise.

Jump shot! If you notice the leaves of the coconut. That's how windy that place was when we were there. We love doing jump shots and I'm not that good in taking pictures of it.

We left the resort at around 11:00 am. We had to find a new place to stay in. We decided to go to Polaris and scout the place to find a nearby 'homestay' (that's how they call the place where you can stay).  It's actually a house where it has plenty of rooms that you can choose from.

We arrived at Polaris and finally found a place at around 3:00 pm. The place was just in front of Polaris resort. I was so excited to go to the beach but everyone's tired so they just took a rest. I just went inside Polaris to look for souvenirs. I got a set of accessories and some refrigerator magnet.

When my sister and her husband was already awake, we went to the market to buy food for dinner . We just had a very simple celebration Noche Buena. We were supposed to sing the karaoke but unfortunately, the owner of the house lent it to her neighbors.

We just had fried chicken, fried tilapia and Ilocos' specialty longganisa for Noche Buena. Afterwards, we had our sleep since all of us are all very tired.
