Polaris Beach Resort at Pagudpud

I can still remember our vacation at Pagudpud last December. I can't get over with the breath taking view of the white sand and the beach. Aside from the beach, we were able to visit other beautiful places in Ilocos. I didn't know how beautiful Ilocos Norte was until I explored it. I should really be a proud Ilocana. =)

We were actually on a tight budget that's why we went to a public beach resort which is Polaris. I think this is a famous beach resort in Ilocos. The entrance fee was very cheap. We've paid 20 pesos (around $.22) for the entrance fee for adults and only 10 pesos ($.22)n for children. The resort was very clean and I can't barely see and plastics scattered on the sand or floating on the water.

We stayed in what they call "home stay" just in front of the beach resort. The price ranges from P750 - P2000 ($17 - $45) depending on the type of room you will get. It is very affordable. The tenants were very kind and we really felt at home during our stay there.

It wasn't summer yet but there were a lot of people who went here during our stay. I've observed that most of the people here are disciplined that they throw their trash on the trash bins. There were lots of trash bins that you can see in this resort so you wouldn't really worry where to throw your litters. I've also observed that the personnel are really doing their. They really maintain the cleanliness in the resort. It was like swimming on a private resort. The water was really clean.

Pagudpud is called the "Boracay of the North" because of its white sand.

It's my first time to see a fish that looks like this. So cute. The fishermen accidentally caught it.

From Polaris Beach Resort, you can see the view of the famous "Bangui Windmills."

I love this shot! This is my sister enjoying the beautiful scenery.

These are some of my favorite shots in Polaris. =)

A Japanese Dog Tries to Protect His Friend

I'm so touched with this dog. Dogs are proven to be man's bestfriend. But in this video, they can also be a bestfriend on their own kind. As a dog lover, it pains me to see them suffering from the disaster but at the same time I'm glad that this dog is trying to protect his fellow dog. I'm also happy that the two dogs were now rescued and well taken care of.

Here's the translation from the voices of two reporters heard on the video:

We are in Arahama area. Looks like there is a dog. There is a dog. He looks tired and dirty. He must have been caught in the tsunami. He looks very dirty.

He has a collar. He must be someone's pet. He has a silver collar. He is shaking. He seems very afraid.

Oh, there is another dog. I wonder if he is dead.

Where?

Right there. There is another dog right next to the one sitting down. He is not moving. I wonder. I wonder if he is alright.

The dog is protecting him.

Yes. He is protecting the dog. That is why he did not want us to approach them. He was trying to keep us at bay.

I can't watch this. This is a very difficult to watch.

Oh. Look. He is moving. He is alive. I am so happy to see that he is alive.

Yes! Yes! He is alive.

He looks to be weakened. We need to them to be rescued soon. We really want them rescued soon.

Oh good. He's getting up.

It is amazing how they survived the tremendous earthquake and tsunami. It's just amazing that they survived through this all.

It Made My Day

Last Thursday morning, someone gave me these beautiful flowers. It really made my day since I love flowers and gardening is one of my favorite hobbies.

There's a pot of Petunia, 3 pots of Marigold and 2 pots of plant which I don't know the name. (Hope someone could help me out.)

I also got a pot of Calamansi plant with fruits. So cute!

I really appreciated these wonderful plants. It helped me forget how painful my leg was. And they made me happy today.

Afterwards we went to a Lugawan in our village to eat porridge. I love their porridge and lumpia. Everytime I eat there, I forget that I'm on a diet.

I eat plain porridge, 2 lumpia, and tokwa't baboy. Off course, I put chillies on all of them. I love spicy foods. Yum yum!!!

I was really full that I didn't eat lunch. Instead, I ate bananas.

I ate 2 packs of Yakisoba and drank Zest-O orange for merienda. I got very hungry because I didn't eat that much at lunch.

That's what I did the whole day to escape my boredom since I had to stay home the whole day because my leg is still in pain and I can't walk straight. I had to rest my leg for one more day. I am really looking forward that I can walk by tomorrow and my suture be removed.

Tuesday Randomness

Last Tuesday, I was surprised when I saw something on our gate. We had a guest sleeping there and it was a bat. It's so cute! Finally, I've seen a bat that close and I was even able to take a picture of it. Of course, the camera has no flash so I wouldn't disturb his sleep.

The bat stayed there for the whole day. But sad to say he died. I don't know why but I saw his dead body near the house the next morning. =(

Although I was having a difficulty in walking that time, I still managed to go to NBI Monumento to get my NBI certificate. Thanks to Paul who accompanied and drove for me to get there. It's my first time to go in NBI Monumento since I've heard that NBI is no longer operating in Carriedo. It was  located inside a mall on 5th floor. Luckily, there was an elevator. In just less than 20 minutes, I got my NBI certificate renewed and there was really no hassle.

I was able to accomplish things this Tuesday despite of my condition. It wasn't really easy because I was hobbling when walking. I feel a little pain on my wounded foot especially when I bump it on the stairs or any surface. I had to endure the pain in order to do the following activities for this day:
1. withdraw money from the bank
2. get a 2x2 photo
3. go to NBI Monumento
With my condition, I think I have accomplished enough, right?
I drank a bottle of Tanduay Ice afterwards and ate 2 orders of chicharong bulaklak to relax myself after a tiring day. =)

Personal Injury Lawyers

Being a victim of car accidents or any vehicular accidents is very difficult especially when it was caused by negligent people. Victims might be physically, emotionally and psychologically affected due to this incident that sometimes the victim doesn’t know what to do on their recovery and to the person who caused the accident.

In Texas, you can approach personal injury lawyers to seek advice regarding the recovery of the victim and about the auto accident law. They will act as an advocate for the victim’s full recovery and this will help victims who do not have knowledge on auto accident laws.

You can find an Austin personal injury attorney through Forth Worth, Texas and its surrounding areas. What’s good about it is that the initial consultations are free and you can choose the time and place you want to meet the personal injury lawyer. They are professional and experience personal injury lawyers who practiced on personal injury and auto accident cases.

The Stitch

It's been four days since I had that accident with our rusty gate and everytime I see the stitch on my leg I really feel bad about it. I can imagine how big the scar would be when it's healed.
This is how my wound looks a day after that incident. It's really ewww!!! The wound was still fresh on this picture.I had 3 stitches.

This was taken just yesterday while I was cleaning my wound. Seems like the wound is improving.

Right now, I still hope and pray that everything would be okay with my wound. That there would be no unwanted effect.

Another thing that bothers me is that I can't walk straight until now. I feel like my stitch is pulling my skin against each other everytime I try to walk straight. So I have no choice but to stay home even if I have to go out to do some errands. I hope this won't take too long.

I am now thinking of remedies on how to lighten my scar. I am trying to Google which ointment, cream or gel works best. I would like to try Contractubex since I've read a lot of good reviews on this product. I hope it really works.

Anyways, my friend and I were joking about my wound. She told me that I have a new nickname and it's "Stitch" and she's "Lilo". We're "Lilo and Stitch." LOL... She's the one who accompanied me in the hospital.
