Listening to Music: A Form of Relaxation

This past few months, I've been busy from work that I don't even have much time for my favorite hobbies here in KSA which are watching movies and cooking food. Really, I get burned up with stress and no rest. So to relax myself from overworking, I listen to music whenever I have the time like - while waiting for our bus, during work if I'm on night duty or before I go to sleep. It gives my mind a little relaxation... to divert myself from stress. That's why I download a lot of music from my iPod or cellphone. And maybe, I should get myself my own sony cd recorder so I could store my favorite songs better, ayt?

I Need A Motivation...

It's been months since I last written something on my blog and since then, I wasn't able to post anything. I had a lot of topics in my mind to write about but when I'm in front of my computer, boom! I'm empty headed. I guess I need a motivation to write 'coz there are many things I've already missed. I was supposed to write my everyday activities and experience here in KSA but I failed to do so. Inshallah, starting next month I'll be consistent with updating my blog.

Classical Music

These past few months, I got burned up and and over fatigued with work because we are experiencing with staff shortage in the hospital. We had less sleep and less time for relaxation. So during my rest day, I get to pamper myself to get refreshed for my next duty. I get a good sleep, eat good meal and listen to nice music. In that case I listen to classical music so I can sleep soundly and peacefully. Once in a while, I listen to baroque musicians that I found on the internet and social media.  Music is a great way to relax, a lot of people use it to destress, share their feelings through others words and some even make their own music with the help of places like www.singularsound.com.

And honestly, it's good! I feel relaxed and well rested even just for a few hours. I get to forget all the problems and sadness that I have recently. Well, if you have a taste in old music, you will appreciate it too.

I Will Forever Miss You, Butchie

Last week was one of the saddest moment of my life when I receive a message from my family in the Philippines that my everdearest dog was dying. At first, I was in denial. He was like a human to us all. So I decided to talk to him and I was really shocked when I said my goodbyes and thank you's to him, he suddenly responded with his very weak growls. I broke down the moment I heard his voice. I really cried. I can't believe that my very best buddy is leaving me and I can't even see and hug him anymore. It really hurts a lot now that I'm very far from him. To a dog lover like me, you will understand how I'm feeling right now. Until now, my heart is still aching on loosing one of the most important thing in my life. I treated him more than a pet. I treated him like my real baby. I hope he is happy now. I'm sure he has a life well-lived since we gave all the love we can give to him especially me who loved him from the deepest of my heart. To commemorate his life on earth, I just want to share you some of the pictures I found in my albums. Actually, I got lots of pictures of him.

I remember the very first day I saw you. I immediately hugged you 'coz I found you really cute. And you we're crying a lot that time and the only thing to make you stop was to carry you. I was from work that time and was really tired but you relieved it.

When your teeth were starting to grow, I must admit I always scold you because you broke a lot of things in our house especially my new pair of shoes that I was able to wear only once. So I just bought you a toy instead.

You love biting our rugs. You destroyed all the rugs at home so we just had to use cheap rugs.

You are such a very playful doggie. We get to play almost everyday when I was still at home. There's no dull moment at home because of you.

Those simple joys you show us everytime we bring you home your favorite bones. It's priceless for me to see you very happy wagging your tail.

The way you entertained my friends. You really made them happy.

You love to sleep on our sofa so we bought a mat for you and you are really a smart dog because you only lie on the part where we put the mat.

I love hugging you. We've got lots of pictures together. Every morning when I woke up, the very first thing I would do was to hug you and you would put your head on my shoulder. That was so sweet of you.

I will forever miss your smiles. You became immune on posing in front of the camera because I love taking pictures of you.

I will forever miss you my baby, my best friend, best buddy, protective friend, loyal friend, my nephew. I will forever appreciate all the things you've done to me and to my family. I love your very much, Butchie. :(

Exploring KSA - Mountains/Rock Formations

Last January, my co-workers invited me to go to the Red Sand. This is my first time to explore KSA and I didn't know that this country is beautiful in its own unique way. I was really amazed with all the stuff that I've seen while we were on our way to the Red Sand. So before I share you my experience in the Red Sand, I'd like to share some photos/sceneries while we we're on our way to our destination.

When we were out of the main city, these rock formations greeted us.
A steep road. Kinda' scary. LOL
This looks creepy. I got goosebumps when I first saw this.

If you could have only seen my facial expression while looking at these wonderful sceneries. All I could say was "Wow!" It was my very first time to see these things so I was really speechless while some of my companions tell some stories about the places we passed by and of course, the Red Sand while me, my eyes are all on the dessert and mountains.

Back Aches

As an OB Nurse, it is our duty to assist our patient in ambulating especially if the patient is a post-Caesarian since she's in deep pain and sometimes she has mild to moderate dizziness. The challenge for me as a nurse comes in, I had to assist her from her bed to get up and sometimes I had to carry her weight. But not all patients are like that. I really appreciate those patients who know how to help themselves. I work in a private hospital so sometimes I deal with stubborn and uncooperative patients.

Another thing is, when we receive a post-Caesarian patient, we had to transfer her from the stretcher to her bed wherein lifting the patient is needed. Mind you, we don't have Nursing Aids so the OR nurses and Ward nurses are the ones who will do the lifting. And what makes it harder is that when the patient is heavy. LOL

So now, I'm suffering from back aches. I bought an ointment and it helps relieves my muscle pain but not for long. I think I need a massage but I have no idea where to have one. As a woman, it's not easy going out anywhere you want in KSA. So I'm trying to just switch my ointment and hopefully I'll be able to find a good one here http://www.smallflower.com/. As of now, I'm trying to find a good brand here.

I also sleep a lot during my day off and do a little exercise. I eat healthy foods and take my vitamins also. As a healthcare worker, I need to take care of my health and it's my very important investment in life.

Good Morning Riyadh

Everyday, I get to see the beauty of Kingdom Tower which is located near my workplace. You'll appreciate it even more at night.

This picture was taken after my night shift duty. The sky was bright and the weather was great so why not take a photo of Kingdom Tower? I never got tired looking at this structure. There are really lots of unique design of buildings in Riyadh which I rarely see in our country.

Bida and Sarap!

In the Philippines, we get to eat Jollibee almost everyday if we want to. But if you are living abroad, thousand miles away like me, you'll miss this famous Filipino fast food chain. So the kid in me is very happy to get a taste of it again. Actually, this is my third time to eat in Jollibee in Riyadh. I just lost the first two pictures. I'm so careless sometimes.

I rarely get a chance to taste Jollibee here 'coz there's no delivery at work and at home and we go to Batha (where Jollibee is located) once a month only. So even if there are other selection of Pinoy Restos around the area, we still opted to eat at Jollibee.

Organize Your Kitchen

It sucks working around your kitchen when it's somewhat messy and disorderly. For me, it's painful in the eyes and it gives me a headache. So it's best when you have it organized. That's why I love putting cabinets on my kitchen where I should my utensils, pots, spices, stocks, etc.

I found from www.ovisonline.com some great ideas on how to keep your kitchen clean and presentable. They've got a lot of designs for all your kitchen needs and this is really great for people who love to cook like me. I think I should start saving now so when I get back to the Philippines, I'll be able to build my dream kitchen.

Pork

The food that I missed eating a lot is 'pork' since it is not allowed in the Kingdom. I still have a year and half or more before I can taste this food. In the Philippines, I get to eat this anytime I want. LOL
Good thing I got to taste loads of pork while I was in the Philippines. I already anticipated it that I won't be eating this food for more than 2 years. Hahaha!
