My First Time Cooking Ginataang Alimasag

I actually cooked this last January 22, 2011. I just got too lazy to post it. I didn't know that this is very easy to do. My brother in law gave me crabs and he just instructed me on how to cook it with coconut milk.

Oh well, I remember the phrase "crab mentality" while cooking these poor crabs. It reminds of those people who are trying to pull me down. Let's go back to my dish, I steamed the crabs first prior to cooking because I can't removed the string attached to them and this would be the easy way to clean them after they are steamed.

When the crabs are cleaned up, I sauteed the onions, garlic, and ginger. Then, I poured the coconut milk. When the coconut milk gets thick, I put the string beans, squash, and chillies (siling haba. When the veggies are about to cook, I added the crabs. Season with salt and pepper. I waited for 5-8 minutes, then it's done!

Voila! Does it look yummy? I cut the crabs into half so it would be easier to eat. =)

  4. @michi - I just learned to eat foods with ginataan just last year. I used to hate them but until now, I can't eat laing. LOL

@Chew On This - yes, because they are exactly like the crabs, they would try to pull down the others to climb up and get out of the pot.
