The Old Skool: Macarena by Los del Rio

Do you still remember the dance steps of this song? This was a hit song when I was in third or fourth grade and almost everyone are doing the Macarena dance. It's the dance craze that most people enjoyed during the 90s. So if you're one of those people who used to love this song, then it's time to reminisce about it. LOL

A Day with my Long Lost Friend

Last Thursday night, I received a text message from my long lost friend from Bataan. She wanted to meet me since she's going to Manila to do some errands. So I said yes without thinking twice since I haven't seen her for almost 3 years now. She used to be my roommate when we were in first year college. Since then, we got very close with each other and we even share secrets. We spent the whole afternoon chitchatting while eating our late lunch at Yellow Club.

Kat and I enjoying our food and stories. Thanks to the crew who offered himself to take a picture of us. =)

One of my favorite foods: PIZZA... yummy!!!!

My favorite Charlie Chan Chicken pasta. =)

I hope our other friends will be able to come the next time we'll have a get together. I really miss them all so much.

Feel Good Late Lunch at Zapata's

Last Wednesday, we had a late celebration for his birthday. As he promised, we went to Zapata's a.k.a. Iguana's at Clark, Pampanga. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant that really offers authentic Mexican food. We've been here for I guess, more than 10 times now. We just love their margarita, burrito, and quesadillas with jalapeno and salsa on the side. Yes, we order them again and again everytime we come there. LOL

GT: My Birthday Wish

Well, I have two wishes for this year. And I hope it will really come true. My first wish is to get my target score in IELTS exam. I am really praying hard that I will only take the IELTS exam once (fingers crossed). And my second wish is the Canadian Immigration Visa. I'll be the happiest girl in the world if I get approved.

The reason I want to go to Canada is that I want to experience living away from my comfort zone. I've been so dependent with my Mama and Sister. I think it's time for me to find a work and live alone. This is really one of my dreams - to experience the life in a first world country. I'm not really after the big pay as long as I'll have a decent and permanent work there. As a nurse, it's really hard to find a work especially when you don't have a backer so I think it's better to render my service to a place where the hiring process and income is fair.

I hope everything will be okay. I hope there would be no hassle and everything will be smooth sailing. This is not really an easy decision for me but I've noticed that I wasn't doing much for the improvement of my career in life when I'm living with my family. So please pray for me in this stage of my life. =)

Lovely Flowers!

I just love flowers. I appreciate when a guy gives me a bouquet of colorful flowers. I'm very attracted with the beauty they bring. They're very relaxing to the eyes. In our yard, we have hibiscus, euphorbias, and santan. The hibiscus have plenty of flowers that's why some kids pick flowers from them when no one's around in our house. I have planted a some sunflowers and I can't wait to see their flowers to bloom but they are still young so I have to wait for months before that happens.

Anyway, I just wanted to share to you that some of our euphorbias have already flowers. I love planting euphorbias because they are low maintenance. They don't need to be watered everyday since they are from the cactus family. Another thing that I like from them is the different colors of flowers that they produce. So here's two of them from our yard:

Last February 16, we went to Sonya's Garden and I really loved the place because it is really close to nature. We took a tour at their rooms and I found out that there are no televisions nor air conditions inside them. This is an interesting place if you want to feel the nature's touch. There are lots of plants and flowers here.

These flowers floating on the water really caught my eyes. The arrangements were simple but it looks pretty for me:

They're so lovely, aren't they?

Katas ng Farmville

While on our way to Tagaytay, I saw this truck with a sign of "Katas ng Farmville" on its rear. That Facebook application (which is Farmville) got really viral to most of the Facebook users including me but due to my hectic schedule, I stopped playing it for almost a year now. I just miss this game since I love planting and gardening. =)

Spaghetti and Barbecue

Last February 05, I cooked spaghetti since I was craving for it. I love spaghetti because pasta is one of my favorite foods. I know this is a very late post. I have a lot of pending blog posts actually so hopefully in time they'll be all here in my blog. Hehe

Butchie, our dog is waiting if he will be given a barbecue. Off course, we gave him some since he is well behaved. =)

GT: My Best Gift this Year

Material things are not really important on my birthdays. Honestly, I'm contented with the greetings that I get from my friends and family. I don't really expect gifts since I don't usually celebrate my birthday that much. I'm fine with cooking some foods at home or just eating out with few friends or family. I always have a simple birthday.

I'm so happy that this year my Mama gave me a 100 Euro which is I didn't really expect. it. I know it's just a money everyone receives that from their parents as their birthday gift, too. What makes this gift special? Heller! I'm already 26 years old and my Mama still gives me money on my birthdays. She still treats me like her baby girl. ^_^

Losing Weight with Aerobics

Since January, I started to attend aerobics 'coz I feel like I'm gaining a lot of weight. Before, my waist measures only 26 inches but now it is already 32 inches. It is really alarming for me 'coz I'm afraid to get fat. I am having hard times wearing my old jeans. I can't pull it up because my hips are starting to get bigger and I already see some stretch marks. Is this the price I have to pay for working at home?

So I decided to get serious for my aerobics so I bought rubbers shoes and 3/4 pants. Got my pants from SM Surplus Shop for only P199 (around $4)

Now, I'm ready =). I wanted to buy Nike shoes but it's more expensive so I just bought World Balance in SM Department Store. It only costs P1230 (around $29). Off course, pink is my favorite color so I chose this color.

Honestly, it's not that easy to lose weight. Discipline is a must if I want this whole thing to become a success. I should be consistent in attending the aerobics class and most of all, I should watch my diet. What can I do? Ang sarap kumain eh. LOL

My First Time Cooking Ginataang Alimasag

I actually cooked this last January 22, 2011. I just got too lazy to post it. I didn't know that this is very easy to do. My brother in law gave me crabs and he just instructed me on how to cook it with coconut milk.

Oh well, I remember the phrase "crab mentality" while cooking these poor crabs. It reminds of those people who are trying to pull me down. Let's go back to my dish, I steamed the crabs first prior to cooking because I can't removed the string attached to them and this would be the easy way to clean them after they are steamed.

When the crabs are cleaned up, I sauteed the onions, garlic, and ginger. Then, I poured the coconut milk. When the coconut milk gets thick, I put the string beans, squash, and chillies (siling haba. When the veggies are about to cook, I added the crabs. Season with salt and pepper. I waited for 5-8 minutes, then it's done!

Voila! Does it look yummy? I cut the crabs into half so it would be easier to eat. =)

GT: My Memorable HS Moment

Actually, I have a lot of memorable moments during my high school days. I really wanted to share them all but my post might take more than 2,000 words just to elaborate each of them.

I couldn't really think which should I share to you so I browsed Facebook again if I can see a good material to share to you. Luckily, I was able to see this cute group picture with my friends. This was taken when we were in Second Year High School. Everytime I look at this picture, I remember something. I was the first girl on the left part. If you look at the picture, there's nothing wrong in there, everything is normal. But guess what, I was standing on a very thick telephone directory because I was the smallest girl in that group pic. According to the photographer, I should use a telephone directory so there will be less height difference with the other girls especially with my friend beside me. My friends were laughing at me during that time and I really  felt embarrassed. What can I do? I am really small. =)
